The sites we search
stuga.se owns no cabins. We gather listings from nine rental sites, put them on a map and send you on to where the booking actually happens. The sites work differently: some are classifieds where you book from a private individual, others are agencies with uniform terms and card payment. Here is the difference.
- Stugknuten8 870 places
Sweden's largest classifieds site for privately let cabins.
- Novasol3 014 places
A European agency with inspected houses and online booking.
- Stugnet1 443 places
A Swedish classifieds site with a week calendar per cabin.
- Stugsidan893 places
A smaller Swedish classifieds site with listings of its own.
- Fritiden515 places
A Swedish classifieds site where owners pay a yearly fee and nobody takes commission.
- Landfolk499 places
A Danish company with hand-picked, design-led houses.
- Svenska Turistföreningen253 places
A non-profit association running mountain huts and hostels since 1885.
- Schwedenliebe192 places
A German-language agency specialising in Swedish houses.
- Svensk Stugförmedling100 places
A Swedish agency with bookable availability.
The counts update continuously and reflect what we show right now. If a source removes itself from us, it disappears from here the same day.
Why we cannot show free dates for every source
When you search with dates you will notice that some cabins carry a green availability confirmation and others do not. That says nothing about the cabin. It says what each site releases to us.
We could have hidden everything we cannot confirm. The results would have looked tidier and been misleading, because most of our sources publish no calendar at all. You would have seen a fraction of the market and believed it was all of it. So we show them, and we write plainly that availability has not been checked.
Here the list tells you whether the cabin is free on your dates.
- Stugknuten
- Stugknuten has an open interface for free dates. We query it for every result, so the list shows you which cabins are free on your exact dates.
- Stugnet
- Stugnet shows a week calendar in every listing. We read it, so free weeks appear in the search results already. The calendar is by the week, not by the day.
The calendar exists, but we fetch it per cabin. Doing that for every result in a search would mean hundreds of requests to the source for a single search, and we do not do that.
- Landfolk
- Landfolk shows its calendar per house. We fetch it when you open the listing here, but not for every result in a search, since that would mean hundreds of requests to them for a single search.
- Schwedenliebe
- Schwedenliebe shows its calendar per house. We fetch it when you open the listing, not for the whole result set.
- Svenska Turistföreningen
- STF shows booking status per hut. We fetch it when you open the listing. Many mountain huts also run on a season rather than a calendar, and the hostels sell beds rather than the whole building.
The site does not release free dates. You get the real answer when you click through.
- Novasol
- Novasol does not share free dates with us. The product feed we receive carries prices, photos and facts about the house, but no calendar. We have asked them for one. Until then we show their houses without claiming anything about availability, and you get the real answer at their own booking step.
- Stugsidan
- Stugsidan publishes no free dates that we can read. You will need to ask the rental provider, exactly as you would have on their own site.
- Svensk Stugförmedling
- Svensk Stugförmedling publishes no free dates in the listing that we can read. You will see availability with them.
- Fritiden
- This source does not share free dates with us. You will see availability with them.
So a cabin without a confirmed availability is not a cabin that is booked. It means we do not know, and that we would rather say so than guess. If you see a green confirmation, it comes from the source's own calendar and not from us.
