About Storsjöyran

Storsjöyran traces its roots to 1963 and is one of Scandinavia’s oldest city festivals. "Yran" is inseparable from the Republic of Jamtland – the tongue-in-cheek nation proclaimed from the main stage every year, complete with president and anthem, a tradition that has made the festival part of the whole province’s identity.

Musically, Yran spans the year’s biggest Swedish names and international acts, with lake Storsjön and Frösön as the backdrop. For many locals, Yran is the homecoming weekend of the year.
